Topic: The bow - key to bass problems (by gary karr)

i read an informative and insightful article written (by you) several decades ago. I am wondering if your thoughts, regarding several points are the same, or have changed:
wood - still pernambuco with a stiff, thin , and lighter preference (weight in grams)? length - shorter (what length from tip to end of frog)? hair - black ("lasts longer"- still your preference)? tone - slow bow, close to the bridge with confined movement (do you ever play above the center track)? i firmly believe your statement:"the bow is more than the breadth of the musical bass sound; it is the most intimate and sensitive physical contact we have the the reality of our own sound." I would like to enable myself to even better optimize this experience and skill.
